How to Treat Intraoperative Pain
The most important thing is if a patient is having pain ask the surgeons to stop, talk with the patient, let her know the plan and reassure her. Sometimes it might just be a little bit of discomfort that can be treated with some IV medications. Some people will use ketamine or medazolam, but fentanyl and dexmatomyen are the two that I prefer.
