The Fire of the Gravenveck in Hammerbrook
Kate Hoffmeister was a 19-year-old milliner living in Hammerbrook. She and her aunt were trying to escape when their house caught fire. They hid under a thick woolen blanket, which protected them from the flames. Her father and two uncles died later while her mother turned up in hospital afterwards. The accounts are very like the ones of the firebombing of Tokyo that James N Scott has in his book,. You're losing your bearings, soul-exarmed people.
