Until 2020, Israel only had official ties with two Arab states, Egypt and Jordan. That of course changed in 2020 when Israel agreed to establish new relations with Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates. There have been half a million Israelis who have visited the UAE over the past two years. Economic activity has been booming across everything from agriculture to high tech. This was seen by many Israelis, particularly right-wing Israelis, as a sign that the Palestinian cause had lost its salience in the region.
