Is There Any Evidence That Northern European Countries Have Higher Rates of Alcohol Consumption?
In Northern European countries, the pub is deeply set from hundreds of thousands of years ago. Pubs were communal spaces in Anglo-Saxon England or in Scandinavia where there was food and warmth also came with them drink. And I think we associate the glow of a pub alcohol with safety, with community, with shelter and warmth. But perhaps in more Southern European countries where they have a much less chaotic relationship with alcohol, less binging, they don't necessarily have that association because days are longer.
