Are You a Liberal?
I think I agree with you that there is a way in which elites can start talking about liberalism that bleeds into this kind of comprehensive liberalism, and that's a real danger. But even though it invokes the idea of liberalism sometimes, or the idea of individualism, it is actually deeply a liberal. So what would you say of situations as in Egypt where there's a significant religious minority who suffer really terrible oppression from society at large?
