Forgiveness

The Savior seems to indicate he measures our desire for forgiveness by the appreciation and the love we would show for being forgiven. He is more likely to forgive those who would feel extreme gratitude and relief and praise for the forgiveness. Repentance is the restoration of the relationship with Christ much more so than checking off a box. If that's not what forgiveness means to you, if your desire for forgiveness is a technicality and not a restoration of that relationship, then you may not be as qualified for the forgiveness as others.
