"Trafica no Ben" was a Zeitgeist film like it was an election year. "I spent more time on set trying to figure out how to do something than I ever had before," he says of filming the movie with Julia Roberts in 2000. It required a new grammar for him, and that could have easily not happened if they hadn't re-approached him after finishing Aaron Brockovich.
