The Dematerialization of Art
I think that turn towards the material widget is a response to the dematerialization of our content and social lives. So there's something that in this sort of like dematerialized version of cultural capitalism, making a ceramic candle holder feels pure in some way. There's like space for criticality and there's like embracing complexity. And maybe it's fine to work on that scale.
