"I always had this interest in hospitals for some reason, I always would volunteer at Michael Reese Hospital being a candy striper. And I used to love it so much everybody," she says. "Now my father is admitted into Michael Reese Hospital on the floor that I also was a candystriper on." The doctors and nurses thought he'd be interested in watching them take off the bandages of his arms. 'Rather than going, oh my God, this is horrible. Look at what he's going through,' her son recalls.
