The Importance of Gamification in Behavior Change

A meta-analysis looked at type 2 diabetics that compared continuous glucose monitors to what's kind of a more traditional method called self-monitoring where people would use like the finger sticks. They did find that CGMs significantly changed HGA1C or kind of longer term blood glucose, which is good, but it only changed it to a statistical significant amount. And so therefore there isn't a consensus for type 2s to be using CGMs absent of this insulin dependence. For otherwise healthy individuals, we've got this problem of what is the harm of irrelevant data.
