The Importance of IUDs
Dr. Hugh Davis created the Dalcon Shield, a new type of intrauterine contraceptive device. The IUD was developed to prevent pregnancy and is now considered one of the most successful birth control devices in history. In 1969, Dr. Thad Earl became so impressed with the results that he offered his sales experience for a stake in the company.
