The Battle of Densheuil

The Battle of Densheuil was a short but humiliating defeat for the French. Their ships were stopped from going up the river, and the Marines they landed were repulsed. The French imposed a naval blockade around the island later that month on October 23, 1884. It would continue until April, the next year, 1885.
