What Is the Role of Forest Fires in Ecology?
How can we think the universe is benevolent when we see such horror everywhere? That's a very good question. And I want you to let me give you an example. Forest fires are humongous events, horrific events. But they clear away undergrowth. They permit new growth to happen. And it's just part of the ecology of life. So what at one time we thought was terrible, we can now look back and say, Hey, that's part of ecology in exactly the same way we're passing through tremendous tumult.
