How to Motivate and Mobilize Volunteers

The one sector of the church that hasn't recovered from COVID is volunteers. How do you assure those volunteers feel part of the church and not just part of fulfilling a function? You cannot hire people for function. The chair in which you are sitting is fulfilling a function. There has to be a higher intent here. If I'm going to drive into your parking lot, there is somebody pointing to park over there. Would that park know what the dream of the church is for what it wants to be ten years from now? It goes back right to the Aristotle study that said, you want to have belonging and purpose.
