The Great Migration and Black Progress in the North
Drennincourt: Great migration should have had the effect of moving people from discriminatory environments that were low mobility and in the gim south. But she finds this progress, which was kind of squelched, it would have been even greater if white northerners hadn't responded to black southerners moving northward by making policy changes. The areas where more african americans moved to in the north saw their levels of mobility fall, not for white residents, but just for black onesand and particularly for black men.
