Is This Better or Worse Than What We Were Given?
What we have now in terms of government far exceeds what the founders would have thought appropriate. That doesn't necessarily mean that what we have is wrong, it just means that it's not what we were given. What they gave us was a regime which featured negative rights government had no role. This is a very strange way to conceive of a government.
