Can You Accept Payment From a Third Party?

Can some one other than the client pay a lawyer to represent the client? The answer is typically yes. A mob boss or a cartel leader paying for legal representation for someone who has worked for their criminal organization and is now under indictment, in an effort to send the message that they need to stay in line. You can't accept compensation if the client hasn't given informed consent. And you have to make sure that information relating to the representation is protected so it remains confidential.
