The Wild with Chris Morgan

CHAPTER

The Fog Horn Sounding Fish on Reefs

Tim can get a little obsessed when he comes across a new fish sound that he can't identify. Fish have what's known as a swim bladder that they can fill with air to control their buoyancy. So some of them are making the sounds sort of with apparatus around their jaw and in ther their throat, i guess. Others of them are banging their teeth together neno to create some of the popping sounds. Some fish don't use their mouth or throat at all, but make a sound that instead use their guts or bellies.
