When things break that you can get a better clue as to what the T mechanisms are. So when neuroscientists look at cases like this, that's going to constrain their theories of what neural mechanisms are responsible for consciousness and what hurts the brain they're in. The philosophy of this stuff is tightly linked with that because all of these questions are very philosophical. But I do want to draw a distinction between making a neuroscientific theory of what's the relevant mechanism,. You know, how fast do these neurons fire and so on. And what philosophers are often concerned with or like a different set of questions that philosophers are concerned with: How could something like consciousness possibly fit in with the scientific conception
