Inventors of laser in the 60s developed this, what he called laser eraser. It was meant to erase typos but it didn't work very well. The funny thing is just like computers came around and solve it by accident. Like looking at the Lazy Eraser, sort of like looking at the last movie with special effects before CGI came around. We're gonna move in a different direction.
