Even the most fervent advocates of violent revolution among us, didn't seem like particularly skilled at violence. And then, earth versters also tended to perceive the world in terms of inner connection. The notion that the only thing separating radical environmentalists and radical right wingers was that one final decisive conversation about evil logging companies consumed a huge amount of time and energy. I think that anecdote illustrates why there would be an ideological motivation to ignore pretty basic questions about what ultimate differences exist between people that manifests as political difference.
