The Glass Stiegel Act was repealed in the 1990s under Bill Clinton with bipartisan support. The four biggest banks in the world belong to the people of China, the Chinese government. They have around $20 trillion in assets and they give loans to help the real economy. That's what US commercial banks are constantly funding,. And then 15 years of quantitative easing and zero interest rates have just had this massive era of cheap money.
