The Attitude of God and the Concept of Man

I've looked at so many buildings lately of an ecclesiastical nature and marveled at the pure ingenuity for religious ugliness that lies behind them. This you see reflects the idea of God as a very solemn, serious father of the universe who has created the world for some purpose to which our attitude is supposed to be sort of a stiffer's marine saluting the flag. And in view of the kind of churches we have this is exceedingly gloomy prospect for the spending of eternity.
