CSS Zen Garden - What Was the Problem?

I tried so many different things I tried you know the sort of pure semantic approach where you try to put as a few styling related bits of information into your markup as possible and then just write whatever CSS was necessary. Then I found that no matter what I did everything slowly just spiraled out of control and you sort of lose track of what changes were safe to make. You end up trying to create these like little safe corners in the CSS file for yourself with like really specific names like profile page header avatar of wrapper. Your CSS just kind of grows and grows and grows, even if it's not being used anymore is still in there. No one knows if it's safe to delete or not
