The Creative Transcendent Experience

The creative transcendent experience I think is what we're talking about. You discover something that you didn't know before. In science, you're almost always working on a question that you know has an answer. Not so with some stories. Good characters don't have answers. If you ever figure out a character totally, the character is dead. The most successful characters I've come up with in screenplays are characters I've given five traits to. And some of those parts are contradictory.
