The Importance of Family

I associate Japanese American culture with family and lack of pretense. You're not trying to show off. You're just who you are, you're humble and you hang out long stretches of time hanging out. On my white side, I don't see that. And actually in general, of course, you can't really generalize completely. But when I meet other Japanese Americans and other white people and their families, the on average that trend is also kind of present.
