The Untalented Singer in Cabaret

The original writer's the book, Christopher Isherwood, was very critical of how the film glamorized why Marlboro and because in truth, that was a much more impoverished town. And I think, you know, going back to the bigger picture here, I think that the book is telling the story of an untalented singer trying to make it in a town where they will never really make it here. It seems like it's accessible like that she could make it. So that's an interesting juxtaposition.
