Britain Should Not Have Fought in the First World War

Intelligence Squared

CHAPTER

The Kaiser and the Great War

It seems time to acknowledge that Britain played a necessary part in the Great War. More than 700,000 British servicemen who perished between 1914 and 18 didn't die for nothing. If Germany had been dictating the terms there could have been no return to honey and fatigue at Grancherster or indeed across the British Empire. I believe that we have to fight. Thank you very much.
