Exposure therapy is a form of self-help that aims to help people overcome phobias. It works by filling in negative experiences with neutral ones, and then the balance starts to change. The brain gets this exposure of thinking about a dog, has this physiologica reaction, and then nothing happens. When we start to say things like fallin behind, you recognize that this is a comparison. A comparison is born of the ego, or the ahamgar. And this, in turn, is an identity issue.
