The Importance of Being a Good Soldier
I was fascinated by Special Forces when I was younger and when Vietnam War was going. My father was a regular infantryman, but I was fascinated by the mission. Why? Well, I just thought that small groups of highly trained people, particularly working with host nation or local indigenous personnel would be needed in the future. He said his battalion commander was adamantly opposed to it: he ruined my career.
