The Importance of Faith and Baptism
The council teaches that the church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation. If I knew the Catholic church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, but I refused to enter it or I refuse to remain in it, I'd be saying no to the Lord. That's really important to understand. It says, this affirmation is not aimed at those who through no fault of their own do not know Christ and his church.
