Is It Possible Sometimes That Brilliant Theorists Can Have the Right Idea for the Wrong Reason
Inflation multiverse is a theory which isn't particularly scientific, but traditionally it would be regarded as unfalsifiable and therefore not part of science. But what happened is the field of theoretical physics has kind of been pushed into a corner where many of the luminaries like Stephen Weinberg came around to this point of view. And I've always found it sort of surprising that they did. It's just a case of when you when you make a few one false turn you know, kind of experimental check, or insufficient experimental checks, you can very easily go wrong.
