The average overhead for dental practice in the United States, I've said this a few times today is 68 to 72%. If you have an overhead of 50% and a payroll of 30%, you add those two together, you have doctor compensation at 30%, you have 10% left over. The risk is relatively low because dentists typically don't default on their loans. Compounded over the course of a career, the missed opportunities can total multiple seven figures.
