Is Dexmetatomidine Better Than Propofol?

SCCM guidelines are real big on anagolus, how do you say it sedation? Analgo sedation. And I feel like my go to is still to sedate people. But I will put them on a sedative and then give them bolostosis of pain medication rather than what I used to do,. Then we had shortages of fentanyl drips. So now I think my general go to is I have two sedative medications that I like: dexmetatomidine and propofol.
