The idea of movable type didn't originate in the 19 thirties, he says. In old books, people would regularlyy know, they'd print them off pretty slowly and so when there was a typo that was noticed, people would just go in and pull out that piece of lead type and put in another one,. And then keep printing. He recalls buying an original edition of newton's principia from 16 87: 15 hundred copies are thought to have been printed.
