We're working our way through book 3 of Marcus Aurelius's Meditations for Modern Life. Just as doctors always have their instruments and knives at hand for any emergency treatment, so you should have your doctorings ready for the recognition of the divine and humane. No action in the humane context will succeed without reference to the divine nor vice versa. We come up with methods that enable us to overcome the most challenging situations that we're presented with. In doing so, we prepare ourselves to overcome the next challenge by adding more tools to our disposal.
