Is Negativity a Good Emotion to Work On?

I love making music where whatever, if I'm sad or if I'm very happy there's not one that's much better. As long as there are good emotions going on it can be happiness or it can be also sadness. Do you need to be in a particular mood to start working or do you push yourself every day to do it? No I don't push. One thing I don't find very useful is negativity that doesn't often work. If I'm negative that day or if I're grumpy that usually doesn't work.
