He thinks we do have a responsibility to make society better. He's not a hermit in that sense. He doesn't opt out of society. Does he think there is a final telos, a final end? No, everything is to be contested. The contest station is infinite. How can you have this sort of non-totalizing politics? Well, it's an interesting thing when you've got to go into a little room and put a cross in one box or the other.
