The Race Card: A Losing Hand

I think it's divisive and I think it's built on a phony kind of intergenerational ethical equity argument. It commodifies something that ought to be almost sacred. The idea that my ancestors built this country, I'm going to say that to the descendants of immigrant Irish or of immigrant South Asians. This is an American problem in this kind of black people sitting on one side of a bargaining table with the rest of the country. And plus at a practical level, given the scale of transfers that would have to be undertaken...it's got a kind of South Africa kind of feel to me.
