There was an explosion of papers in experimental economics showing that women are just not as competitive as men. Many were ventilating the hypothesis that maybe this is the reason why they don't reach the top. I started to look not into economics but into evolutionary psychology because it seemed like the incentives for women to be competitive were just not as high as for males, he says.
