The McElian Bembe and the Pattasaurus
In 1979, cryptozoologists Roy Mackel and John Powell set off for the Congo in search of McElian Bembe. They collected a bevy of testimonies from Congolese villagers who claimed to have encountered one years before. But when they tracked down an official at Lake Telly it turned out that he knew nothing less than nothing about its existence. The explorers also brought along a book of pictures which included mixed images of local animals as well as mythological animals like pattasaurus.
