The SEC's Relationship With Regulators
The SEC made some pretty significant changes between the proposed rule and what they ultimately voted out should be the final regulation. One of the things that they changed, which I think was really smart, was how much detail in this public filing you have to include about what was attacked. So they did narrow what you have to disclose in the face of an incident. It's a lot of folks who don't do it through that process before they have an incident will be caught flat-footed.
