The Giants and the Skull Types
The Smithsonian made great efforts that if they found out about a large skeleton somewhere was to go get it. And I think the Giants would have done that because the skull types were so much different than any Native American skull. Many of them had protruding brow ridges, massive jaws,. long-headed skulls that you would associate more with Europeans. So when Catlin went out there, he said they resembled Europeans more than they did Native Americans.
