Is There a Smell Component?
"I'm very interested in the things, how we talk to dogs and things we say to dogs," he says. "It could be because men do act a little bit differently on the whole two dogs when they approach a new dog." He adds that people from different cultures who have very different diets smell differently. And so is that salient to a dog? Absolutely. Does it break down along racial lines? Maybe sometimes, and maybe sometimes not.
