How Does This Even Affect You?

I remember going to India for the first time and just being like wait what happened? I don't even know this thing had happened and how it impacted on my own family. Only times where you really see the enormity of it or understand the pain that it caused is when you have British Asian people who almost uniformly impacted by this in some way talking about the effect it had on their family  and they can't go back to their home village.
