The Day of Savoring
After all this creative work is finished, we read that god rests on the seventh day. At first glance, it can seem a little odd that why would god need to rest? Was he fatigued? Was he tired after all this work? So why did god rest? Right? The omnipotent, unchanging god doesn't get tired, so, right? It's a symbol here we speak of when someone's died. We don't mean, may he sit in a hammock for all eternity requiescat and pance rest. On the seventh day, after the six days of making the world, god savors the world which is why we'll see eventually israel is invited
