National Lampoon was not involved in the Ed Helms helms reboot of the franchise in 2015 they also removed their name from Vegas Vacation in 1997 due to a falling out with original vacation producer and former Lampoon co-owner Maddie Simmons Frankly by the late 90s the prefix National Lampoon was something of a liability since their movies by this point kind of sucked. The magazine was shuttered in 1998 and really the last truly quality hit movie that National Lampoon had was Christmas Vacation in 1989The ones beyond that basically sound like entries in a porn franchise and which Clark and Ellen get away for a second honeymoon is a giant half-assed ad.
