The Banks Hate Dodd-Frank

The banks were the source of the crisis in 2008 and as a result, Congress passed Dodd-Frank which heavily regulated the banks. The thinking was that if you fund more of what you do with equity, it makes it less likely that there will be another financial crisis That spreads throughout the financial system in the future. And so the big banks in particular were quite directly affected by all these new regulations.
