It's sort of like John the Baptist is saying, hey, wait, are you really the guy that we were prophesying about? So let's just pause it and think, why would John the Baptist send disciples to Jesus to ask if Jesus is the Messiah? Because he already knew that. And maybe he's even doubting a bit like Jesus. I thought you were the Messiah.
