'This is a cruel old thought experiment. So i'm thinking about whether to steal your car or not, and it turns out that at just the moment that that process that was implanted would have caused my decision, if i hadn't decided on my own, i decide on my own,' he says. 'So we're here right now. We have same initial conditions for everybody, right? Unless you're talking parallel universes, right? We have the same initial conditions. And what you might say is, you didn't do it freely, unless you could have chosen otherwise, right? Ok. But that's not free will as we all understand it.'
